Bastille Day Ball 2006

Susan Schwenger '80

The AALFNY is an active member of the Committee of French-Speaking Societies. As a matter of fact, your President sits on its executive board and has been on the Ball Committee for the past four years. Alessandra has already begun planning the 2007 Ball.
A number of alumni attended this year, though with over 2,300 guests, it was difficult to spot one another. An active event-volunteer this year was Dr. Micheline Dugué ('87).

The Comité des Associations Francaises de New York, with our very own
president on the comittee, held the grand event of the year for the francophone community at the historic Puck Building.

Numerous elegant alumni and their guests were spotted dancing the night away in the two ballrooms specially decorated in blue, white and red for the event. We were spoilt by our musical choices: Joe Battaglia & the New York Big Band struck up a lively mix of Swing, Ballroom and Latin music the Grand Ballroom, while a French Tuesday's DJ mixed it up in the Skylight Ballroom.

Among those who joined Micheline and Alessandra were Druce Vertes ('83), Jean-Pierre Dareys ('81), Vivian Vertes ('81), Stephen Allen ('80), Susan Schwenger ('80), Gloria Tulliu ('73,) and Eric Gotthelf ('74).
