Dr. Micheline Dugué ('87), a geriatric psychiatrist, has been elected President of the American Association of French-Speaking Health Professionals (AAFSHP). She has revitalized that association through a varied and fascinating event schedule.

The AAFSHP brings together a community of French-speaking health professionals from all fields and cultures. There are 4 dinner-conferences a year in a French restaurant. Science topics are presented in French with English slides. Some of the subjects covered this year included, Planètes extrasolaires, the secret life of neonates, the musician Marie Jael, naturopathic medicine, and a medico-ethnic tour of Havana, Cuba.

The Association looks forward to Sheila Salama M.D's talk on Energy Psychology in January 2007; Nobel Candidate Professor and Chair of Genetics at Columbia, Gerard Karsenty M.D, Ph.D will talk about the genetics of bone formation in March 2007; and Michel Meyer Azoulay, M.D, MBA will present New Drug development in June 2007.
