● "THE SECRET OF CHANEL NO. 5: The Most Intimate History of the World's Most Famous Perfume: Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, [was] born in 1883.....Her signature product became Chanel No. 5, a fragrance still popular 90 years after its introduction. Although this audiobook offers no way to smell the scent, narrator Liz de Nesnera’s native French transports listeners to the origin of the eponymous brand and the country in which Coco blossomed. De Nesnera’s voice gives a delicacy to the story, a proper touch to a woman who began with few options and became one of the richest women of the twentieth century." Vous pouvez me contacter à l'adresse suivante: francoisemoes@yahoo.fr."

Nicolas Boillot wrote: "Nicolas Boillot's branding, advertising and public relations firm, Hart-Boillot (www.hbagency.com) has weathered the economic storm and is expanding with a new office opening in Texas in January 2010. Check out the new video on the agency's home page. And if you're ever in Massachusetts, please give Nicolas a call. When he's not working, flying, writing or spending time with his wife and four-year-old son, he's delighted to see old friends (and/or give them scenic flights over Cape Cod)."

Liz de Nesnera wrote: "As many of you know (as it was published two years ago in this newsletter!) I am the founder of CaregiversCommunity.com, a website dedicated to the proposition that Caregivers deserve to have a life beyond caregiving. (I've been a caregiver for 12+ years...and Maman just turned 90!!!) But, what I'm including today, is that beyond my caregiving duties, I decided to take my own advice and get back to one my other loves: Voice-Over! I have been involved in the voice recording industry for over 15 years, from being a Copywriter & Production Director at a Radio station to working in a Voice-recording studio, and now have been doing voice-over work for about the past 18 months on a consistent basis! I love getting in front of the mic and getting people's messages across...of course in English ET en Français! You can check out my voice-over website [by clicking on the link below]. If any Lycée alum needs voice-work done (phone system, website, corporate narration...whatever!) give me a call or send me an email."

Liz de Nesnera shared this touching update with us: "Well, I guess if there ever was a time for me to share, it's now. A lot changed for me in 2005. On May 24th, after 9 years (well – OK, technically a week shy of 9 years, but who’s counting :-) I got laid off from my job as Senior Project Manger and Sound Engineer. It was unexpected, but actually an amazing blessing. It allowed me to really fly towards my dreams!

August 1st, I officially started my new venture: CaregiversCommunity.com [see link below] I won’t go into my whole caregiving story here (you can get all the details at: http://www.caregiverscommunity.com/aboutus.html) but I am the primary caregiver to my mom who had a hemorrhagic stroke 11 years ago and is now wheelchair bound. I also took care of my dad, who had Alzheimer’s, until his death in 2003.

My mission in life right now is to get the word out to family caregivers on the importance of their taking time for themselves. I’ve gotten amazing support from caregivers (both family & “professional”) and have been booked to speak at several caregivers events. You can see my upcoming Calendar of Events at: http://www.caregiverscommunity.com/events.html

I decided that as a caregiver for the past 11 years, it was time for me to take that experience and help other caregivers. To give caregivers permission to be more than just caregivers. To help them realize that having a life, having fun and having guilt-free joy is essential to their being an effective caregiver as well!

I was also accepted to be the Northern NJ volunteer representative for the National Family Caregivers Association’s Caregiver Community Action Network (NFCA CCAN for short!). This has also allowed me to meet a great bunch of people who are working to get the word out on the important contributions caregivers are making. I have also been asked to be a member of the Board of the newly formed Caregivers of NJ.

On top of all that I also wrote an e-book (a PLAY-book as opposed to a "work"-book) which can be downloaded as an electronic e-book or bought as a printed copy http://www.caregiverscommunity.com/cooltools.html

Bref, if there are any LFNY'ers who are caregivers or who know of any one who could use some support, my website is a great place to start! It has been an exciting six months! All the best, Liz de Nesnera"

Paola (Tettamanzi) Buckley writes: "I have been living in Dallas for 2 months with my husband and four children (2 boys & 2 girls, ages 16 mos - 7 years). Before Dallas we lived in Annapolis, MD and most recently in Lancaster, PA where I started a pre-school French program for children ages 3-6. I am also in touch with Sabrina Birner '83 and we are actively discussing the possibility of a 20 year reunion…Last week at when I took our 3 year old daughter Julia to ballet, I had an incredible encounter...with a former LFNY student whose oldest daughter is also enrolled in ballet! The French woman who runs the ballet school introduced us, and we all started speaking French. At this point, Nathalie (Villa) Simon '82 looks at me and tells me how familiar I look. One question led to another, and we soon discovered that we both were at the Lycée in the same class for three years! Nathalie was in NY in 4ème, 3ème and 2nde. We quickly started reminiscing about friends and teachers and are thrilled to have found each other here in Dallas. If any Lycée alum are coming through Dallas, please give me a call as I would love to hear from you!"
