Mid-Atlantic LifeSpan has expanded its Public Policy Team with the addition of Sidney Francois, as the new Director of Grass Roots. Prior to joining LifeSpan, Sidney worked for the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland, as the Administrator of the Health Club Unit, and at the Legal Aid Bureau, as a staff attorney representing children in need of assistance. Sidney holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Goucher College. The Grass Roots Director position will be responsible for creating a network of seniors for the purpose of promoting and supporting, in coordination with LifeSpan1s positions, public policy initiatives that benefit Maryland and DC seniors, particularly, those in institutional or at risk of placement in institutional settings. The Director will be the principle contact with seniors and senior organizations to communicate key issues, how they impact seniors and why seniors should be involved in the advocacy process. The Director will mobilize the network quickly when needed, to connect with and influence important government and political leaders.
