Letter from the Council

The AALFNY gains momentum.

The Alumni Association of the Lycée Français de New York (AALFNY) has defied the odds!

With only a handful of volunteers, a budget consisting entirely of Alumni dues and donations, and no support from outside organisations, we continue to accomplish our mission of serving the alumni community. As ever, we exist to keep one of the most extraordinary alumni bodies in the world vitally connected in much the same way we were connected as students, in defiance of the geographic, ethnic and cultural boundaries that normally separate people.

In the recent years, your Association has expanded its extensive contact database, regularly published an alumni newsletter, and designed and managed our new Web site that serves as a remarkable source of information about the activities of fellow alumni around the globe, as well as a powerful networking tool.

You can consult the calendar for details about upcoming events (like cocktails and class reunions), read up on your old friends, and get links to French-American resources around the world. If you have not already done so, please log on, register and make sure we have your email address. This will allow you to receive periodic email blasts regarding news of your class year.

The Association's mission is only fully realized, however, if the alumni it reconnects on the Internet are reunited in-person. Toward that end, the Association sponsors parties and cultural soirées that have been the scenes of numerous heart-felt reunions and new business contacts. In addition, the AALFNY has supported the efforts of its sister organization in Paris, the AALFNYF and has facilitated class reunions for a number of different class years. You can read more about those in our "Alumni Spotted" section.

We need your help to continue offering these services to you. The AALFNY is an independent, non-profit organization that depends on your financial contributions to sustain its activities and serve its unique alumni community. We receive no support from the school and are staffed entirely by alumni volunteers. If you appreciate the services we provide, please support us by paying your voluntary annual dues and by making an additional tax-deductible contribution, if possible.

We hope we can count on your support and participation as we expand the AALFNY's programs as well as its visibility and prestige.
