Les Lyceens au Cinema#1) Two Lycee alumnae (classes of '50 and '59) starred in the 1973 thriller "Day of the Jackal" which was based on a novel by Frederick Forsyth. Who were they? #2) A Lycee alumnus (class of '62) produced an award-winning documentary about the inhabitants of Chambon-sur-Lignon, "Weapons of the Spirit" , about "...a tiny Protestant farming village in the mountains of south-central France. Defying the Nazis and the French government that was collaborating with the Nazis, the villagers of the area of Le Chambon provided a safe haven throughout the war for whoever knocked on their door. Most of the villagers were proud descendants of the Huguenots, first Protestants in Catholic France. They remembered their own history of persecution, and it mattered to them. When their van breaks down, they find a group of prospectors who welcome the kids and offer them a place to stay until they can get help. It soon becomes evident, however, that there is more to these prospectors than they claim, and soon the teens are fleeing for their lives."
