- Class of 1968 reunion in Paris
J.P. Harpignies visited Paris on September 25, 2008 to attend a conference given by a friend of his at the Société de Géographie on the topic of "Plantes et Chamanisme." Several class of '68 alumni as well as others showed up, and a spontaneous "Let's go party at Roger's place" after the conference resulted in an amazingly coincidental class of '68 40-year reunion.
In attendance, from the class of 1968 were: Gerard Chetrit and his lovely wife Claudine; Martine Abballea; Muriel Soriano; Nicole Perrier; J.P. Harpignies; Roger Liwer; Lise Rosenbaum.
Also there: Sylvain Chayet ('70) and his friend Brigitte; Henri Ehrlich ('64) and his sister Sylive Ehrlich ('70); Perrine Rouillon ('69) and her friend Jean.
Nicole's words in an email to everyone after the reunion summed it up best:
"Hi, everybody! It was, as Roger says, great and heart-warming to be together again and we owe it all to him, to his perseverance with the AAFLNY, and to his faithful friendship. The wonder with childhood / teen-age year friends is that we seem to come back together so naturally. After all, sharing the fuzzy and roller-coaster times of our very young youth has united us for life! If we were able to stand each other then, we should be able to love each other now!"
