While Nicolas' company continues to grow (www.hartboillot.com), he maintains the hope to eventually be writing full-time for film and television. He completed another movie script in 2006, and plans to start looking for an agent now that he has a substantial body of work. A lot changed for me in 2005. On May 24th, after 9 years (well – OK, technically a week shy of 9 years, but who’s counting :-) I got laid off from my job as Senior Project Manger and Sound Engineer. It was unexpected, but actually an amazing blessing. It allowed me to really fly towards my dreams! August 1st, I officially started my new venture: CaregiversCommunity.com [see link below] I won’t go into my whole caregiving story here (you can get all the details at: http://www.caregiverscommunity.com/aboutus.html) but I am the primary caregiver to my mom who had a hemorrhagic stroke 11 years ago and is now wheelchair bound. I also took care of my dad, who had Alzheimer’s, until his death in 2003. My mission in life right now is to get the word out to family caregivers on the importance of their taking time for themselves. I’ve gotten amazing support from caregivers (both family & “professional”) and have been booked to speak at several caregivers events. You can see my upcoming Calendar of Events at: http://www.caregiverscommunity.com/events.html I decided that as a caregiver for the past 11 years, it was time for me to take that experience and help other caregivers. To give caregivers permission to be more than just caregivers. To help them realize that having a life, having fun and having guilt-free joy is essential to their being an effective caregiver as well! I was also accepted to be the Northern NJ volunteer representative for the National Family Caregivers Association’s Caregiver Community Action Network (NFCA CCAN for short!). This has also allowed me to meet a great bunch of people who are working to get the word out on the important contributions caregivers are making. I have also been asked to be a member of the Board of the newly formed Caregivers of NJ. She was born in Germany on May 30th, 2005, 50cm long and weighing 3.15 kilos. She joins her sister, Galadriel Valentina Stamm, who is now 14 months old. ● Nancy (Kleinman) Shaw ('67) wrote to tell us that in Central Park "Enter the park at 94th Street and Central Park West and follow the walk to the RIGHT. The plaque commemorating Jenny Kleinman ('83) and my father is on the second bench to the RIGHT of the entrance to Safari Playground." ----- From November/December 2001 AALFNY Newsletter ----- ● Alejandro Perez lives in Madrid and works as a civil engineer. ● Paola (Tettamanzi) Buckley writes: "I have been living in Dallas for 2 months with my husband and four children (2 boys & 2 girls, ages 16 mos - 7 years). Before Dallas we lived in Annapolis, MD and most recently in Lancaster, PA where I started a pre-school French program for children ages 3-6. I am also in touch with Sabrina Birner '83 and we are actively discussing the possibility of a 20 year reunion…Last week at when I took our 3 year old daughter Julia to ballet, I had an incredible encounter...with a former LFNY student whose oldest daughter is also enrolled in ballet! The French woman who runs the ballet school introduced us, and we all started speaking French. At this point, Nathalie (Villa) Simon '82 looks at me and tells me how familiar I look. One question led to another, and we soon discovered that we both were at the Lycée in the same class for three years! Nathalie was in NY in 4ème, 3ème and 2nde. We quickly started reminiscing about friends and teachers and are thrilled to have found each other here in Dallas.
