Election Slate of Representatives to the Alumni CouncilServing the 2002-2004 TermCandidate for President: Alessandra Gagliardi ’86 I am a free-lance PR & Media consultant for clients in the cosmetic, entertainment and gourmet food industries and a member of the Save Venice Foundation. My past job experience includes news production for European TV markets and extensive event planning. I’ve been involved with the AALFNY for over 8 years. My favorite projects have been the Newsletter, the Bridge to Business program, and the fabulous parties! I have served as Executive VP and am the current President. My ultimate aim is to serve the needs of the alumni community while creating a positive environment for our volunteers. To this end, I would like to see a number of projects implemented, such as the creation of committees and appointed positions in order to distribute the work among our volunteers effectively. The blossoming of Regional Associations around the globe, including a separate NY Chapter, to handle the day-to day local needs of alumni and the establishment of Class reps will be a definite priority. I am thrilled with the direction the AALFNY has taken and thank my co-Council members for all their energy and talent. Candidate for Executive Vice-President: Roger Liwer ’68 Roger Liwer (class of 1968) has served on the AALFNY's Board of Directors and its Council over the past two decades, as past President and Treasurer, and currently as Executive Vice President. On the professional side, he recently retired from employment with the City of New York, where he was Executive Deputy Comptroller, and is now employed by a large not-for-profit organization (Medical and Health Research Association of NYC) where he is the Deputy Director for Finance and Administration. Candidates for Vice-President: Stephen Allen ’80 I own a small computer consulting firm, and have at my disposition the ability to print on color and high-speed black & white laser printers, do mail merges, offer office space if we need it to stuff envelopes, etc. I can help design forms, invitations, etc, and of course will be available to help with organizational duties. My devotion to the Lycée is well known at this point, I am sure, as is my disappointment over the rift that has opened between the AALFNY and the school. I would certainly devote a part of my time as Vice- President to mending this rift, and hopefully reintegrating ourselves into the greater Lycée family. Vanessa Kaufman Kelmans ’74 Mme.
