From Genevieve et Hervé Cerisoles

Your AALFNY has just received a message from two of our fellow alums-- Hervé and Genevieve Cerisoles-- informing us that their mother, Nanette Cerisoles, is recovering from a serious medical operation. Hervé and Genevieve told us that they were sure their mother would very much appreciate messages from Lycée alumni who knew her, and that such messages would be very helpful to her in her recovery. To send an email, please send them to Nanette Cerisoles c/o her son via Hcerisoles@aol.com, or use the mailto link below. We send Nanette, her children and her extended family all our warmest thoughts and wishes.

Dear friends and classmates:
Most of you know her as "Madame Cerisoles." Our mother, Nanette, has been retired and living in Florida since 1987. She has just undergone what was a "routine" triple by-pass operation. There were complications on the 3rd by-pass and she had to undergo a second open heart surgical operation to repair the third by-pass.

These operations back-to-back are very traumatic and stressful on a 78 year old person. What should have been a 5 to 6 day turn-around has resulted in a slow recuperation. It would be a big encouragement to Nanette to hear from all her friends and family, but especially the anciens from the Lycée.

We know that she instilled fear in many of us who crossed her path in the hallways over the years. Whatever mischief we were up to, whether smoking in the loo, "chahuter dans les couloirs" or just hanging out in a remote corner of the school, she would inevitably sneak up on us, make us sweat a little and have us move along.

Whatever our "misdemeanor" at the time, these memories now bring a smile to our day as we have gone through our own "coming of age" (Merci M. Choquet), especially as most of us have sprouted grey hairs due to the toil and patience required in raising our own little angels who all "metamorphasize" into hell-raising teenagers.

Anyway, we know that most of the anciens felt respect for her, and even liked her very much. She would undoubtedly be very happy to receive a handful of greetings, good wishes, but maybe even a short update from individual students. She is so proud of the kids who passed through the Lycée corridors that a good story will warm her heart (and arteries).

Please do not hesitate to send us corresponden
ce so that she can read it during what is expected to be a long recuperation period.
We wish to thank all of our camarades from so long ago.
Hoping each day finds her better,

Chaleureusement,
Genevieve et Hervé Cerisoles
