Next big show will be held at the Olden in Gstaad from 19th to 20th of February. Anyone there from LFNY welcome! Otherwise I always wonder how Mr. Dorion, the best, best teacher I ever, ever had is doing!?" ● Astrid Froidure de Kerdanet wrote: "I started as a Consultant to the creative world of Advertising and the Arts. Early, I realized this choice of career was not going to be sufficient to support my ambitions for travel and my appetite for life. I then worked in London in market research, fell in love, got married. 10 years later, two lovely children and a career focused on Telecommunications, I decided to move to New Zealand. NZ was an exciting and very fulfilling adventure, on all fronts: I diversified into Banking, set up on my own, and came back to Europe after six years, with a new addition to the family. I am now based in Brussels where I advise pan-European Retail banks and Telecom operators on Marketing and Management strategy." » (http://sylvie.sicamois.free.fr/perrine%20hanrot.htm) ----- From July 2008 AALFNY Newsletter ----- ● BIRTHS/NAISSANCES: From Guillaume Rambourg: "Just a quick line to announce the arrival of Selma Jade Ella Rambourg, in the early hours of Thursday 6th of March. She shares that birth day with heavyweight artists in their fields such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Lorin Maazel, Andrzej Wajda, Kiri Te Kanawa, Ivan Boesky (!), Alan Greenspan, Dick Fosbury and Shaquille O'Neal. Weighing 4.175 kilos and expanding over 54cms, let's hope she doesn't emulate the latter's size too much. Last but not least, she picked the day of her sister Yasmin's 4th birthday. In times of recession, the cost saving of a combined birthday party is not negligible. Good girl! I will endeavour to deliver fund performance as consistently as I produce babies." ● Claude Schwab wrote: "I wanted to share news regarding myself and one of my brothers, Solan Schwab ('88). Our firm, Schwab Enterprise, was recently acquired (April 2008), and I have included below a small article on this event. I am bummed to have missed our reunions, but hope we can make it an annual gathering (Nick and Micheline – are you up to it??!). He was responsible for the development of ITE’s international sales force from 50 people in 1994 to over 300 sales people in 17 countries worldwide. In the same period, sales grew from £8 million to £36 million. Mark’s management and leadership skills were conclusively proven by ITE’s continued profit growth in 1998 and 1999 under his stewardship, in spite of the unavoidable disruptions associated with flotation on the London Stock Exchange in March 1998 and the unexpected financial crisis in Russia in August 1998. Mark, with his father Roger, was awarded the ‘European Dynamic Entrepreneur’ in 1998 for his achievements at ITE by ‘Europe’s 500, the Association for Dynamic Entrepreneurs.’ He co-founded Expomedia Group and as the Chief Executive is responsible for the overall day to day running of the Company."
