Desperately missing NY." ● Leilah Broukhim wrote: "Tickets are now on sale for the NYC performance of my new flamenco show Dejando Huellas (Traces) at the 92nd Y Kaufmann Concert Hall on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 as part of the Flamenco Festival USA. Please help spread the word to all New Yorkers! Dejando Huellas (Traces) tells the story of a Sephardic woman through time and fuses flamenco with Sephardic and Persian music. We premiered the show to a sold-out audience at this year's Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow and just returned from another successful performance in Paris at the Museum of Art and History of Judaism. At a young age, she became interested in the dance world studying ballet, jazz and tap in the Professional Children’s program at New York’s distinguished Broadway Dance Center. Later, she began her flamenco dance formation with such respected New York-based professors, such as Jose Molina and La Meira, who gave her the necessary foundation to follow her growth in Spain. After graduating magna cum laude from Columbia University with a B.A. in Film Studies, she decided to move to Spain in order to fully immerse herself in the flamenco world. In Madrid she continued her studies at the renowned dance academy Amor de Dios under great masters of flamenco, including Maria Magdalena, Manuel Reyes, Rafaela Carrasco and Jose Maya. At the same time, she completed her knowledge of flamenco in Seville with the ‘Farrucos’ a Gypsy family who as marked her personal dance style....."
