Letter from the Council

Winter 2003-2004

Alessandra Gagliardi ’86

President, Alumni Council of the

Alumni Association of the Lycée Français de New York, Inc.

New York, Jan 29, 2004

Dear Alumni:

An exciting new chapter has opened in the Lycee’s history. Last fall, the school welcomed its students to its brand new building, and an inauguration ceremony was attended by President Jacques Chirac and our own Dominique de Villepin (’71). For all of us who spent our formative years within the Lycee’s previous patrician edifices, the move to new quarters was bittersweet –filled with nostalgia but also with recognition that time marches on, and that new needs require new solutions. Today’s Lyceens will surely benefit from their impressive new home.

Alumni also have a brand new home at this website, which incorporates an improved design as well as many new features such as links, photos, and illustrations. We invite you to wander about the site and enjoy some of our many items: networking event reports, class reunion descriptions, classnotes, etc. We encourage all of you to make use of our “Find-a-Classmate” service, and we encourage alum’s of class years ‘19_4’ and ‘19_9’ to get involved in planning class reunions of their own.

We hope you enjoy this new newlstter, and ask you to please write to us with comments and sugestions at letters@lfnyalumni.org.

Sincerely,
Alessandra Gagliardi
